Jim Taylor Managing Partner MarineNet LLC

Jim is the founding member and currently the Managing Partner of MarineNet, LLC – the Marine Industry initiative on Electronic Business Standards and Processes. MarineNet, LLC was formed to assist member companies and the industry in improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and value of the standardization of EDI, information management, business process, and technology functions within the marine industry.  He also participates and serves in leadership positions in several standard development and industry organizations, including:

  • BPC – Business Payments Coalition
  • X12 – Standards Development Organization
  • RTCM – Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services
  • IRPT – Inland Rivers Ports & Terminals Association
  • FILS – Federal & Industry Logistics Standards Committee

Jim’s background includes 35+ years in the supply chain and technology industries; where he relied on his experience to methodically capture and capitalize on opportunities and solve challenges in the marine, medical, and package goods industries. This includes the design, development, and implementation of:

 

  • Inventory and invoicing systems for DSD operations
  • Health care claims management systems for Taft-Hartley Plans
  • Value Added Network and document standards for the Inland Waterway Industry

Jim has 3 Children and 4 grandchildren; has a degree in engineering from NC State, served in the US Navy and he enjoys his current avocation as a soccer coach, referee, and player.
